The NFHS-5 report released in March last year showed 97% of India's households have electricity - 95% of rural and 99% of urban. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, MP, Arunachal Pradesh, UP and Assam were among the major states that showed major improvement. Overall, the electrification of households in Bihar rose to 95.6% over this period.
