Trading in the power exchanges was extended for two hours on Thursday upon request of various state governments. However, most of them could not participate in the day-ahead trade. Officials in some of these states said they are working with the power plants to pay the dues while a few are expected to move courts against the Centre's Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and Related Matters) Rules, 2022 notified in June.
