The price of LNG in the spot market jumped from $6 per million metric British thermal unit (mmbtu) in January 2021 to $35 this January, and it has since been trading in the $30-38 range. The Japan-Korea-Marker, the Asian spot benchmark, was last trading around $34 per mmbtu.
