Petrol, diesel costlier in Rajasthan after VAT hike by government

The state government in a late-night order on Saturday announced a hike in the VAT rate on petrol from 30 per cent to 34 per cent and from 22 per cent to 26 per cent on diesel. The effective rate of petrol and diesel in Jaipur will now be Rs 75.57 per litre and Rs 69.26 per litre.
