Since 2018, India has been hard pressed in dealing with ever-increasing crude oil price volatility and crude oil supply disruptions on the back of US-imposed economic sanctions on Iran and Venezuela. The surge in crude oil prices last year led to domestic prices of petrol and diesel sky-rocketing across the country, to its highest level ever.
