Festive season pushes petrol, diesel sales in September

Sales of Petrol surged 13.2 per cent to 2.65 million tonnes in September as compared to 2.34 million tonnes of consumption in the corresponding period of last year. Sales were 20.7 per cent higher than Covid-marred September 2020 and 23.3 per cent more than pre-pandemic September 2019.

Windfall profit tax cut on domestic crude oil, diesel; scrapped for ATF

The tax at the rate of Rs 5 a litre on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) exports was scrapped with effect from October 2, according to a finance ministry notification issued late Saturday night.

NTPC clocks 15.1 pc growth in power generation during Apr-Sept

NTPC Rihand (3,000 MW) in Uttar Pradesh was the top performing thermal power plant with 90.22 per cent Plant Load Factor (PLF or capacity utilisation) between April to September 2022. Overall PLF of NTPC coal stations stood at 76.3 per cent in the period under review.
