India's power crisis to worsen further due to states' laxity on coal imports: Power Ministry

India's peak power demand breached all records to touch 207 GW on Friday. Official data showed coal stock availability of 21 million tonnes (MT), enough for nine days, at power stations.

Andhra Pradesh to procure 7,000 MW solar power from SECI

The SECI will start supplying 3,000 MW from September 2024 in the first tranche, 3,000 MW from September 2025 in the second tranche and 1,000 MW from September 2026 in the third tranche.

IOC rolls out methanol-blended petrol on pilot basis

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli launched the M15 petrol in the presence of Niti Aayog member VK Saraswat and IOC chairman SM Vaidya on Saturday. Teli said that blending fuel with methanol will provide respite from the rising prices.

Peak shortage shoots up to 10.77 GW this week, deepens power crisis

The data also showed that the peak shortage came down slightly to 8.12GW on Friday despite peak power demand met or the highest supply touching an all-time high of 207.11GW on April 29, 2022.
